Rajon Rondo Out Until All-Star Break?

According to Jessica Camerato of CSN New England, Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo (wrist) recently told reporters that he is targeting a return just before the All-Star break. He has missed the past five games with that injury, while Boston is 4-1 in those games.

Paul Pierce has stepped up his game in Rondo’s absence, as he’s averaging 23 points, 6.4 rebounds and 8.2 assists in the five games Rondo has missed.

This injury has everyone confused, including Rondo himself. He stated when the wrist injury happened that he wasn’t going to miss anytime, and even reports yesterday were saying he might give it a go Sunday, now he’s saying he won’t be back until mid-February at best.

Fantasy Analysis

Wait for some clarification before you do anything with Rondo. Paul Pierce will continue to benefit, while Avery Bradley and E’Twaun Moore will share the duties at the point, but neither player is worth a add in any Fantasy format.
