Jimmer Fredette and Week Five’s Fantasy Basketball Risers

There were only two NBA games on the docket for Thursday night, so we thought we’d back-track a bit and monitor some fantasy progress from Wednesday and Thursday.

If you’re knee-deep in a fantasy basketball season or merely trying to stay posted on the rise of players for daily fantasy basketball games, take a look at who is rising this week:

Jimmer Fredette, PG, Sacramento Kings

Fredette had a pretty shaky start to his career, but has rounded out nicely over the past week. He’s dropped in games of 20, 13, and 19 points in his past three outings, and is in the starting lineup as long as Marcus Thornton is out (about 1-2 weeks). Needless to say, the dude is rising.

Danilo Gallinari, G/F, Denver Nuggets

Don’t look now, but the Italian Stallion is pouring it on thick. Gallo has topped 21 points in three straight games, including a beastly 37-point outing against former Nugget king, Carmelo Anthony, in a win over the Knicks. The good news is Gallo isn’t just a scorer, either, as he’s racked up 18 boards, 12 assists, four blocks, and two steals over the last three games.

Austin Daye, F, Detroit Pistons

Daye has been wildly inconsistent this season, but he blew up in his last game, as he logged over 30 minutes while scoring 28 points on 10-of-18 shooting. It could be a random good game, but it could also be the preface to a long string of good games. I’d simply watch him for now, but you at least need to take notice.

Drew Gooden, F/C, Milwaukee Bucks

Gooden has topped 10 points in three of his past four games, but that’s not why he’s on the rise. Starting center Andrew Bogut could be lost for the year with a fractured ankle, which will have Gooden taking over in the middle. Gooden was a guy to own when Bogut missed action earlier in the year, and that certainly shouldn’t change now.
