The speculation and drama that surrounded the free agent class of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Dirk Nowitzki, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Carlos Boozer, Rudy Gay, and co. slowly and slowly gained steam for years before culminating in an eight-day media frenzy from July 1-8.
This year, Carmelo Anthony appears to be headed down the same path. (more…)

The Western Conference playoffs look absolutely brutal.
The Eastern Conference NBA Playoffs are loaded at the top, with any of the top seeds having a legitimate chance at a run to the Finals.
The next couple of months are going to be wild in the NBA, so we’re here to try and calm everything down. (more…)

We’re into the final month of the NBA regular season, and there are still important races going on throughout both conferences.
While the Cavaliers and Lakers each have their No. 1 seeds all but locked up, the rest of the teams are all battling it out for position.
In the West, just five games separate the second-seeded Nuggets from the eighth-seeded Trail Blazers.
Here’s how they stack up 1-30: (more…)

After putting on a great show and winning 13 straight games, the Dallas Mavericks have hit a pot-hole in their run for positioning in the Western Conference.
On the other side of the NBA spectrum, the Cleveland Cavaliers have worked out their issues since Shaq got hurt, and are back to playing championship-caliber basketball.
Congrats, Cavs, you’re back on top (for now): (more…)

Apparently, nobody really wants that eighth seed in the Western Conference.
Every team currently ninth or lower in the West has dropped their most recent game, and no team has gone better than 5-5 in their last 10.
The eighth place Blazers are just 6-4 in that stretch, but appear to have a stranglehold on that playoff spot, currently holding a four-game lead.
Things are just as hectic at the top of the Western Conference, as the Lakers aren’t clear-cut favorites anymore. (more…)

Out West, the Mavericks, Nuggets, Lakers, and Jazz appear to be separating themselves from the pack as we near the playoffs.
In the East, the Cavs appear to have gotten things back in order, and the Celtics are struggling once again.
Here’s the full NBA rundown as we head into the second-to-last month of the regular season. (more…)

With a flurry of deals having gone down prior to last week’s trade deadline, the NBA landscape is different from how it was at this time last week.
Contenders have added what they hope to be the final pieces to a championship run, while some other teams positioned themselves to be big spenders come free agency this summer. (more…)

The first full week after the NBA trade deadline is upon us, and several normally reliable fantasy options are going to be struggling to adapt to their new situations.
Injuries are also factors, as they always are, and some guys may be hindered in their performance due to nagging pains.
As always, the more games for your players the better, so let’s see who would be worth your while to start this week. (more…)

If you follow the NBA and haven’t heard by now, well, you just haven’t been paying attention.
True, the All-Star game and festivities have somewhat stolen the show in Dallas over the past three days, but Dallas has been in the news for other reasons, as well.
The Mavericks were involved in a huge deal over the weekend, marking the first big splash since the Charlotte Bobcats swung a deal for Stephen Jackson at the beginning of the season.
Dallas said good-bye to the extremely talented, yet disappointing Josh Howard, while sending veteran journey-man Drew Gooden (as well as two other players) for Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, and DeShawn Stevenson. (more…)

After Greg Oden and Joel Przybilla went down with season-ending knee injuries, it was no secret that the Blazers were hurting in their inside game, as they were forced to rely almost solely on LaMarcus Aldridge.
However, it’s become clear that they are in the market for a short-term replacement to help keep them competitive for the remainder of this season, while freeing up a roster spot for next season, so both Oden and Przybilla could return to the rotation. (more…)
