We’re beginning to lose sight of what basketball is really all about. Then again, perhaps we did a long time ago.
Gone are the days of the “Dream Team” and the USA dominating in the Olympic Games. The days of the San Antonio Spurs winning games and titles with their crafty veterans and stingy defense are slowly fading away.
That Detroit Pistons team that upset the Los Angeles Lakers is starting to dwindle in our memories. (more…)

According to SI.com, the Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings have agreed to a trade that will send Tracy McGrady, Carl Landry, and Joey Dorsey to Sacramento in exchange for Kevin Martin, Hilton Armstrong, Sergio Rodriguez, and Kenny Thomas.
Considering it had been widely reported that the Rockets were to be deciding between dealing McGrady to the Bulls or Knicks, the Kings move comes as a bit of a surprise. (more…)
The Houston Rockets are in a rut.
They have lost seven of their last 11 games, given several unconvincing performances against lottery teams, and have dropped out of the playoff picture for the moment. To quote Daryl Morey, they are “not a playoff team [without] change.”
