We’ve had several “who’s no. 1?” debates with regards to the NBA Draft over the past several years.
In 2008, the Derrick Rose v. Michael Beasley debate raged on. If their first two seasons are any indicator, the Bulls made the better choice.
In 2007, we had the much more heated Greg Oden v. Kevin Durant episode.
Oden has played in exactly 82 games over the course of two seasons, as he missed all of what would’ve been his rookie season with a knee injury. (more…)

The NBA season has finally culminated, and now we have to wait an excruciating 128 days for the 2010-11 campaign to kick off.
Even though this year’s NBA Finals was anything but aesthetically pleasing, the level of competition was through the roof. Every possession was a battle, the intensity was unlike anything I’ve personally seen, and Game 7 provided one of the most dramatic and climactic final 24 minutes in the past 20 years. (more…)

We’ve seen this one before, haven’t we?
Starting Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics will meet in the NBA Finals for the 12th time, easily the most frequent Finals match-up in league history.
This will be a rematch of the 2008 Finals, where we saw the Celtics take home their record 17th championship in six games. (more…)

The NBA Championship Series is finally upon us. We are treated to an amazing rivalry between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers, with perhaps more talent than we have ever seen in an NBA Finals Series.
This should be an epic series involving prime fantasy match ups. This will be a gritty; back and forth series that should go seven games. The series will provide a fantastic closeout to the NBA fantasy season. (more…)

If you’re a Boston fan, check your emotions at the door and look at the facts.
From a view over top, yes, the second technical and eventual ejection were an over reaction. A game six suspension? Ditto.
However, these are the NBA rules. This is how it’s done with every player and every team. Remember last year when Dwight Howard missed a playoff game due to suspension? It works both ways. (more…)

The Orlando Magic just staved off elimination, demanding the Boston Celtics put the broom away, and invited them back to Orlando for a game five visit.
After all, that’s all that it will be. The Celtics will come into town, the Magic will play another heart-felt game, and game six will be on the books.
At least that’s the plan. (more…)

LeBron James
I’ve been sitting and staring at a blank screen for about 20 minutes. The only thought that’s running through my head that I would feel comfortable (and that would be appropriate) writing down is “why did I agree to write something about this game in the first place?”
All day before this game, and even yesterday, a weird feeling ran through my veins. But it wasn’t one of paranoia, or nervousness, or excitement—it was a feeling of nothingness. (more…)

In a surprise move, former NBA stars Reggie Miller, Chris Webber, and Gary Payton have emerged from retirement to give the game one last chance.
The Celtics have recently taken fire over the ages of their “big three,” Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce. All three have spurned notions of retirement and instead, have opted to continue playing the game they love.
Kevin Garnett, 72, denies that his senior citizen status is enough to keep him off the court. He believes that a team’s mentality takes precedence over a player’s age. (more…)
