We’ve been doing rookie rankings and observations all year long, and while there’s a time and a place for finalizing those rankings and picking a ROY winner, this is not that time.
The season is coming to a close, but there have been so many rookies that have shined at a moderate level, that a regular ranking column just doesn’t do them justice, as they get left in the dark.

We’re not even two full months into the 2009-10 NBA season, but what’s sports coverage without over-analyzing every step that young players take?
The beautiful thing about covering the NBA Draft and watching the games as the season progresses, is getting to see which top picks quickly begin to live up to (and sometimes surpass) their projected potential, and which one’s never get off the ground.
Several writers have battled back and forth between this week’s top two rookies, Brandon Jennings and Tyreke Evans, both of which have been far and away the top in their class so far this season. (more…)
