Typically, the NBA trade deadline comes and goes with tons of fanfare and smokescreens with little actual movement taking place.
2010 is no typical year.
With perhaps the most talented crop of free agents in the history of the league set to become available in July, several teams are scrambling to try and save as much money as possible for a potential spending spree. (more…)

Closely resembling what happened to Adam Morrison two years ago, former top ten pick Joe Alexander has been traded away from his original team.
The different? He’s not going to an NBA champion-caliber team, and his contract will expire after the season is over. (more…)
It has been reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers have reached an agreement on a three-team deal involving six players, which will bring Washington star forward Antawn Jamison to Cleveland.
The report, which has surfaced from league sources with knowledge of the talk, informed Yahoo! Sports of the trade.
The reported trade has the Cavaliers bringing in Jamison, while shipping off center Zydrunas Ilgauskas and a first round pick to th Washington Wizards. The Wizards will also receive Brian Skinner and Al Thornton from the Los Angeles Clippers. (more…)
If you follow the NBA and haven’t heard by now, well, you just haven’t been paying attention.
True, the All-Star game and festivities have somewhat stolen the show in Dallas over the past three days, but Dallas has been in the news for other reasons, as well.
The Mavericks were involved in a huge deal over the weekend, marking the first big splash since the Charlotte Bobcats swung a deal for Stephen Jackson at the beginning of the season.
Dallas said good-bye to the extremely talented, yet disappointing Josh Howard, while sending veteran journey-man Drew Gooden (as well as two other players) for Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood, and DeShawn Stevenson. (more…)

So, Allen Iverson is headed back to Philadelphia.
I’ve written in the past about how he needs to accept the fact that he’s in decline and nobody cares to have a whining, selfish, aging player as a franchise centerpiece.
However, I feel as though Iverson’s move back to the 76ers is a perfect match for both sides.
Lou Williams, Philly’s second-leading scorer, just went down for eight weeks with a broken jaw. (more…)
