A very solid center prospect who has almost come out of nowhere, Nikola Vucevic really progressed in his third season at USC, and could find his way into the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft.
Read on for Vucevic’s full scouting report:
NBA Position: F/C
Height: 6’11”
Weight: 260
School: USC
Strengths
Excellent size for the center position at the next level, with enough versatility and skills to play power forward, as well. Pretty solid offensive player around the basket. Not as predictable as I originally thought. Finishes well around the rim, and can do so with either hand. Very good rebounder. Good free throw shooter. Has a nice jumper with solid range and a silky touch. Has the size and length to play solid defense at the next level. Is still really only finding his ability now. Still has a fairly high ceiling.
Weaknesses
Not very athletic. A little rigid in his movements at times. Has a good amount of post moves to work with, but can be fairly predictable and almost lazy in stretches. Doesn’t play horrible defense, but his lack of athleticism or explosiveness hinders his ability as a one-on-one defender and/or shot-blocker.
